Responsive Type

With the installation and increasing usage of responsive design (fluid layouts) typography has started to make some major advancements as well. No longer are font-sizes restricted to pixels. Using ems you can resize your type based on the parent element that it resides in. When creating markup for responsive design it's cruicial that as typographers and web designers you take the time to convert your pixels to ems.

New developments with type are arising and one of the latest features is responsive type based on facial positioning in relation to the screen (in other words, how far away from your monitor you are). This example created by developer Marko Dugonjic Responsive Typography Face Detection is the first of many advancements that are accessing different features on a device.
